Fiat returned to the United States in 2011 under Chrysler ownership with the 500, added the 500X crossover and the Mazda-based 124 Spider, and has since shrunk to a token presence selling a few thousand cars a year. The 124 Spider ended in 2020 and the 500X in 2023. Fiat's US reputation is small, cheap and Italian, with a following for the classic 124 and X1/9 that outlasts the modern cars.

Tires on a Fiat
Fiat stamps no approval code on its tires, and with fitments this small the placard size, load index and speed rating cover everything you need. The two models we list are the 2016 to 2023 500X on 215/60R17 and the 1979 to 1985 124 Spider on 185/70R13. Both are square fitments, so four identical tires and normal rotation.
The 500X shares its platform with the Jeep Renegade and uses the same 215/60R17 size, which is useful because it means good availability and competitive pricing from a size that sells in Jeep volumes rather than Fiat volumes. The 500 hatchback, not in our size data, ran 185/55R15 and 195/45R16 fitments that are also inexpensive. On the classic side, 185/70R13 is still made but by fewer manufacturers each year, and owners of the older Spider who want more choice often move to a 14 inch wheel.
Because these are light cars, tire choice affects ride and noise more than it affects grip, and most owners get more from a quiet touring all-season than from anything performance-oriented.
The models that matter
The 500X is the model most Fiat owners are buying tires for, on 215/60R17, shared with the Jeep Renegade. The 124 Spider of 1979 to 1985 runs 185/70R13. The later Mazda-based 124 Spider of 2017 to 2020 uses the MX-5's 205/45R17, which is a well-stocked size.
What owners find out later
Because the 500X and the Jeep Renegade take the same 215/60R17, you can shop the size as a Jeep fitment and usually find it cheaper and in stock more often than under the Fiat name. Fiat's small spare on the 500X sits under the load floor on some trims and is missing entirely on others, replaced by a kit. The 13 inch size on the classic Spider is slowly being discontinued pattern by pattern, so buying a full set at once rather than one at a time avoids ending up with mismatched brands.
Fiat used direct TPMS from the start of the US relaunch, so even the cheapest 500X has sensors that need handling at fitting.
